Juve's Accounts – Italian Football News 8 Oct 22

Ciao, ragazzi! This is Andrew with your Calcio Daily for Saturday, October 8th!

Juventus have published their accounts for 2021 to 22, which gives some interesting insight into their transfer activity, director wages and FIFA fines.

They were fined €3.5 million by UEFA for breaking the Financial Fair Play parameters in 2019/22 and the accounts include a warning that they face further fines if they fail to stay within the parameters in the current three year period.

New Sports Director Maurizio Arrivabene is the club’s highest paid employee, bringing home €1.2 million while Hot Head Nedved rakes in €514,000.

In the period under discussion, Juve spent €50.9 million after bringing in Bremer, Cambiaso and Kostic.

Down south at Napoli, Stan Lobotka has reportedly agreed verbally to a new deal.

The Slovakian has been a stand out performer for the last year or so and has been rewarded with a pay rise to €3 million. He has been the subject of enquiries from Liverpool and Manchester United but Luciano Spalletti feels he is critical to his side’s progress, hence the new deal.

Gonzalo Higuain, who retired from football earlier this week, has reflected on his switch from Napoli to Juventus.

“One day, 60,000 people are shouting your name, fifteen days later they might be insulting you.”

Higuain is not the first player to switch from Napoli to Juve, he knew how things would go down and that when you do that, regardless of reputation, you mean nothing to the Napoli fans.

Did he think he was so special that he wouldn’t suffer the same fate?

Quit yer whining!

Here are this weekend’s fixtures in Serie A!
