Juventus have the chance to get within a point of third-placed Napoli.

There is no massive standout game in Serie A this weekend, but here’s a look at the games we do have.

Bottom-placed Salernitana should be well taken care of by Sassuolo in the first game of the weekend. We could see a hatful of goals, too as Sassuolo are capable of blowing teams away with their captain Berardi now a target for Milan.

That game kicks off at the same time as the game between Spezia and Cagliari. Cagliari have improved a bit and Spezia are wildly up and down, so anything could happen there. I’d still take a stab at Spezia taking the points.

Into the evening and Juventus have the chance to give Napoli the heebie jeebies! A win for Juve away at Sampdoria would put them just one point behind the Napolitans, who I think will be suffering some trauma from their insipid performance against Milan last week.

Max Allegri has not been endearing himself to the Juve fans recently, trumpeting the merit of ugly 1-0 wins while the fanbase want to see their team offer at least some style, but the black and white juggernaut keeps on rolling towards another title and those in their way know it.

Samp are in poor form and look poor too, so this has to be an easy win for Juve, despite their list of long term injury absentees.

Milan could end the day 5 points clear at the top from Inter if they beat Empoli at home. Empoli are without a win in a month although they did run Juventus close a couple of weeks ago and if there has been one area where Milan have constantly tripped themselves up and that is against teams they would be expected to beat comfortably so Empoli fit the mould.
